about me
My name is Ysabelle Ferrer, and I am a queer, Filipino creative who recently moved to London, England from Toronto, Canada.
I completed my B.A. in Creative Industries with specializations in Entrepreneurship, Professional Communications and Theatre at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2019. Since graduating, I have honed my expertise in arts administration, marketing, and events at companies such as the Canadian Opera Company, The Globe and Mail and VIVA Singers Toronto.
Throughout my life, I have always loved creating things with my hands. I’ve tried everything from sewing to making props out of EVA foam. Most recently, this led me to create costumes for Randolph Kids’ production of Suessical the Musical. I fell in love with the process and quickly realized that this is what I was meant to do.
I'm someone who learns best by jumping into the deep-end of projects or jobs that scare me, so naturally, I thrive best when I'm challenged to grow as a creative thinker and a leader. My interpersonal, teamwork and leadership styles have all grown through both working in teams and managing them. I strongly value the strength of community and the power of allowing everyone, not just a seat, but a voice at the table. I always strive to perform with an open-minded, positive, and inclusive attitude - fair warning: I’m a firm believer in laughter (even if it is directed at myself). Life is a fine balance that I haven’t quite mastered yet, but I’m proud of where I am and excited for what’s to come.
